Simply put, when electronics such as those within an entertainment system or home office are not in use, they’re still drawing energy. These phantoms loads can add up over time—up to $100 per year in wasted energy for the average household.
Rebate Details
Rebates are available on the NHSaves® online marketplace only.
- $8 rebate for tier I APS
- $40 rebate for tier II APS
Eligibility
- Must be a residential electric customer of a participating New Hampshire utility.
- Limit of three advanced power strip rebates per year.
- Cannot be combined with any other utility offering.
- Purchase must be made between January 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026. Rebate is a limited-time offer while funds are available and may be subject to change at any time.

Master Control Power Strip
- This will remove power from controlled outlets when the master outlet is not in use.
- For example, when you shut off your TV that is plugged into the master outlet, power will be also be shut off from the controlled outlets of your DVD player, audio system and gaming console to ensure they are not drawing energy when not in use.
Masterless Power Strip (Light Sensing, Remote or Timed)
- This will remove power from outlets when you turn off the power via a remote, set a timer for when it should turn off/on or a sensor detects no light in a room.
Advanced Power Strips Tier II—$40 Rebate—NHSaves Online Marketplace Only
Activity-Sensing Power Strip
- This will remove power from controlled outlets when the master outlet is not in use, with the added feature of having an activity/motion sensor for further energy savings.
- For example, when you shut off your TV that is plugged into the master outlet, power will also be turned off on the controlled outlets of your DVD player, audio system and gaming console. Additionally, if the sensor that comes with this APS doesn’t detect remote control use or movement in the room for a pre-determined amount of time, it will also cut power to the master and controlled outlets.
